Mother’s Day Bordering On Romance
March 10th, 2012 , 5 Comments »Hello Stampers. . . welcome to SandiesKorner this Saturday morning. If you have been following my blog recently you already know that I am preparing for a Tea Party at the end of this month and I only thought it was appropriate to have a couple of Mother's Day cards ready. When browsing one day I came across this beautiful card using Stampin' Ups Bordering on Romance (W125480/C125482). You can find it in our Occasion Mini on pg 11. It doesn't look like much when you first see it, but WOW when you color it or paper piece it you will have a master piece, no doubt. This card was totaly cased from the very talented Vikki Burdick from ItsAStampThing. Thanks Vikki.
Now for the deets. As I said the stamp set is Bordering On Romance. My colors are Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze, Twipperpated Deisgner Paper Pack (125406). My image was stamped on Shimmery White paper with Black Stazon and them colored in with my reinkers and blender pen. Press gently so no pilling occurs on your paper. Colors are Pretty In Pink, Rose Red and Old Olive. The sketch is one that I use often. If you look closely you will see that I used our Square Lattice Embossing Folder (119976) on the piece of NQN. I love this embosing folder, it gives you the look of fabric.
My sentiment is from a retired set Well Scripted. I use this set alot. The font is so pretty and the words can be used over and over. So sorry to see it retired. Well we win some and lose some don't we. For some added pizzazz I used our 5/8" Whisper White Satin Ribbon (114616). It's a must have in your crafting stash. (TIP: You can make this ribbon any color to match what you need by coloring it with your reinkers and a few drops of water or you can even use your markers) Give it a try when you are in a pinch for ribbon. The pearls are from our Basic Pearls Collection (119247). There are 150 pieces in a variety of sizes for you to choose from.
Well that its for me today. Looks like it might be another day outside. I have a few plants that need to be repotted and my patio needs to be swept.
As your demonstrator I always appreciate your business, so if you would like to case this card or are in need of any Stampin' Up supplies please shop at my ON LINE STORE. A Flirtatious MOJO Skectch
March 9th, 2012 , No Comments »Good Morning To All. . . Happy Friday. Today I have this weeks MOJO Sketch to share. I must admit this one was a little challenging. I had the hardest time deciding on my colors. As the end of the Stampin' Up year draws near I'm looking forward to some new designer papers. How about you?
The colors that I finally ended up with are from the Flirtatious Specialty Designer Pack (122360). It has some very nice colors like Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Pretty In Pink Wisteria Wonder and Whisper White. I thought that was a nice combo for Spring.
My card base is a standard A2 card cut at 5.5 x 8.5, scored at 4.25. If you look closely you will see a new die cut called Paper Doily (125592). It is a beautiful intricate cut doily, but I must admit can be a little challenging. Well worth the effort though. Experiment with your big shot sandwich, Adding another shim (I used a piece of Whisper White) to your sandwich can be helpful to get a clean cut, also be sure that you cutting plate is not warped. This die needs the same pressure thru out your sandwich. Just a few things that I have found helpful. But please DO NOT force your sandwich thru your Big Shot. You don't want to break this expensive cool tool.
My stamp set is from Herb Expressions (W113224). On the inside I used Bring On the Cake (W121899/C121958) and Delicate Doilies (W122590/C122592). Delicate Doillies coordinates with the Flirtatious Paper. My buttons are random and the ribbon is the 1/2" Polka Dot Melon Mambo Ribbon. I turned it on the other side and tied my bow.
There's just a few weeks left now to take advantage of this years Sale a Bration. Place a $50 order and you will receive a FREE stamp set or accessory from the Sale a Bration Mini. If you have misplaced your mini, you can click on my SAB button at the top of this blog and view what is available this year. Bring On The Cake Masculine Style
March 7th, 2012 , No Comments »I'M ON A ROLL FOLKS. . . You all know how difficult it is to make masculine cards, but I think I have another one for ya. Today I would like to share a birthday card with you that will put a smile on anyone's face.
My card is a standard A2 size, 4.25 x 11, scored at 5.5. My base color is Always Artichoke, matted with another piece of Artichoke embossed with our Houndstooth Embossing Folder (123134). I have a strip that measures 1.25 x 5.5 matted with a piece of Pear Pizzazz from our In Color Patterns Designer Series Paper (117158). (Remember folks, this is the second year for these In Colors so on May 31st they will no longer be available. Make yourself a mental note because everything has been moved up a month with the new release of our new catalog on June 1st.)
Next I used a piece of our 1 1/4" Striped Soft Suede Ribbon (125060). I can not express enough how great this ribbon is. It ties like butter. My stamp set is Bring On the Cake (W121899/C121958). This set works great with this layout, don't you think? I'm not sure you can see it in the picture but I first stamped my cake image in Early Expresso, then I grabbed a makeup sponge (its on a stick, the one that you use to put on eye shadow) and wiped off the ink on happy birthday. I reinked it with my Always Artichoke Marker (105113). It worked like a charm.
The sponge is small enough to fit in small places. My large circle is 3" and my inner circle is 2 3/4. I used my nesties, but it can be done many ways with the tools you have on hand. I added a bronze brad to my sentiment to jazz it up a bit.
I hope you like it and it inspires you to make a few masculine cards for your stash. If you're in need of any supplies please be sure and shop at my On Line Store. It's open 24/7 for all your Stampin' Up shopping needs.
EARN FREE STAMPIN'UP PRODUCTS DURING SALE A BRATION. For every $50 you spend you will receive a free stamp set or accessory from our Sale a Bration Mini. You can view the mini on line, just click on my Sale A Bration button above. If you have any questions please contact me, I'm here to help with all your papercrafting needs.
Also as my special thank you for placing an order you will earn a star. When you place a $35 order you will earn a star. Earn ten (10) stars and you can select a FREE stamp set from the current catalog or mini valued at twenty-five dollars ($25).

March 5th, 2012 , 3 Comments »
Hello Folks. . . Happy Monday. Have you heard the news yet. Stampin' Up has introduced a new cool tool, it's called the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate (125586). This plate sells for $11.95 and coordinates with our Simply Scored Scoring Tool (122334) $29.95. This diagnoal plate is great for customizing your own envelopes using designer papers and makes 3D projects like boxes easy peasy.
As you already know I have been working on projects for my Tea Party that is coming up soon. Well gee whiz I have been browsing the book for several minutes now and can't find my stamp set The Open Sea. I guess it is retired. I should have remembered that. Any who that is the card I have to share with you today. I need masculine birthdays and this set was sitting right on top of my stash. My cardbase is new paper for me, it's Natural White (102316). It has that manly look, don't you think. LOL I jazzed it up just a bit by embossing the world image with Gold Embossing Pwd (109131) and heat tool (100005). Next I put a layer of Cherry Cobbler cut at 1 3/4", topped it with a piece of Night of Navy 1/8" smaller and embossed it with our Stripes Embossing Folder (123128). My focal point image is a piece of Cherry Cobbler cut at 3 1/4 x 3 3/4. The next two pieces are Brushed Gold (102935) and another piece of Naturals White cut 1/8" smaller. For the happy birthday I used an ole' favorite Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370). That's current and a must have. LOL It covers just about any occasion that you would need
.
For my pretties I added four (4) Night of Navy brads from the Regals Collection (119737) and some 1/4" Night of Navy Grosgrain Ribbon (109036).
Well thats it folks. I hope you enjoyed my project. It's always a challenge for me to make masculine cards you know I'm a foral kind of girl. The last few days I have been working on my Swap Fronts for a Stamping Marathon that I am going to on Saturday. As you know I have been playing a little with My Digital Studio and decided to once again use the stamp brush set Tea Shoppe for my card fronts. You can view the MDS Catalog here.
It's a simple layout and I hope they all like it. My colors are Rich Razzelberry, Whisper White and designer paper from Pocketful of Posies (122354). On the bottom of my red piece (Poppy Parade) I used our Scallop Trim Border Punch (118402) and added some bling. The bow uses a large white brad, you can use anything you choose. It's called the Mary Brown bow. The ribbon is our 5/8" Satin Ribbon in Marina Mist. Looking at the book I don't see it, so it must be retired for now.
Yesterday Stampin' Up introduced a new Cool Tool, the Simply Scored Diagonal Plate (125586). It coordinates with our Simply Scored Scoring Tool (122334). If you enjoy making matching envelopes to your cards or like to make 3D projects this is the tool for you.

My card begins just like any other card. The base is Whisper White, matted with a piece of Basic Grey and matted again with another layer of Whisper White. I used our Framed Tulips Embossing Folder (#121809) for a feminine touch, after all it is a Tea Party.
Now the fun begins. . . The stamp brush set is Tea Shoppe. One of the many great features of MDS is that you can size any shape to the size you want. I used the three tea cups and resized them to make them smaller. I punched them out with our 1" square punch (#124094) and mounted them on our Scallop Square Punch (#119884). My sentiment is from the same brush set and I made it smaller too so it would fit in the Decorative Label Punch (#120907). I added some 1/2" Cherry Cobbler Scallop Dot Ribbon and there you have a beautiful digitally designed greeting card.
Well. what do you think? Don't be afraid, if you are not a computer guru, Stamping Up has great tips and examples at http://mydigitalstudio.net/ . Jump right in and experiece just another way to make beautiful and easy cards. It's great for scrapbooking too.

Bordering On Romance Mother’s Day Card
February 27th, 2012 , 3 Comments »Bordering On Romance
Hello Folks !! Happy Monday. What a great day yesterday. Chilli in the morn but it warmed up nicely. I was able to get some needed yard work done. Funny, that makes me so happy when I have a neated dressed yard. LOL
I was even able to get some cards ready for my Tea Party. I thought it probably was a good idea to get some Mother's Day cards ready. My stamp set is the beautiful Bordering On Romance (W125482/C125482) found in the Occasions Mini pg 11. Boy oh boy this needs to be on everyone's wish list, but don't wait to to long, the mini ends on April 30th. My image was colored with "Prisma Color Pencils and Gamosol". If you haven't tried pencils yet be sure and put that on your to do list. I used our Scallop Circle #2 die cut (113469), nested with an Island Indigo 3" circle. The focal point circle was cut with a nestie. It measure 2 3/4 across. My designer paper is the SAB Everyday Enchantment, FREE with a $50 purchase. My strip is 1 3/4" wide and 4.25 long. I used the Square Lattice embossing folder (119976). One of my favorite cool tools. My scallop needed some depth to it, it seemed to fade in the background so I used our piercing tool and mat pack. My ribbon is Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding (122330) with a large white brad. Added some tiny pearls for flower centers.
Just A Reminder – The release of our new catalog is June 1st. That means you will have until May 31st to check your supplies and order any of the retiring paper and ribbons like I used on my card today. Blushing Bride, Concord Crush, Peach Parfait, Pear Pizzazz and Poppy Parade with retire this year. We will be getting a new set of In Colors when the catty is released.

Well that's it for me folks, I'm looking forward to another productive day. Need to make more Tea Bag Holders and the like for my Tea Party. If you have any questions or need any help with orders please contact me I would love to help. Ta Ta For Now

Masculine Birthday Card
February 25th, 2012 , 1 Comment »Hello Folks. Welcome to SandiesKorner and the week end. The sun is shining and it looks great outsdie but WOW it sure is still chilli out there this morning. I'm hoping it will warm up a bit, I need to trim up some bushes and get them ready for spring. Things are starting to bud here in ole' MO.
I got a little blind sighted at my craft fairs this year. I was so happy to see folks buying handmade greeting cards. They were asking for masculine cards and I didn't have very many. I am on a crusade to try and get some masculine cards ready for this years craft shows. So here we go. Today I have a masculine card to share. It is clean, simple but striking. I think that covers all the bases.
My cardstock is Whisper White (100730), matted with a piece of Night of Navy (100867), matted again with WW. I have a strip approx 1.25" wide by 3.75" long of NON. I used our Square Latice Embossing Folder (119976) for a little pizzazz. Even men like pizzazz. LOL I wrapped a piece of our Real Red Grososgrain Ribbon (retired) around it. My designer paper is just perfect for the gentlemen. It is from the Brights Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack (117155). This is a large tablet like selection of dp. I believe you get two (2) sheets of four (4) different designs. Mine is so discombobulated, but I think that's right. This is often overlooked, you can find it at the bottom of each family selection.
My stamp set is Happiest Birthday Wishes (W122615/C122617), it is one of this year's Hostess Sets. You can purchase this discounted set with your Hostess Cash that you earn when you host a Workshop of $150 or more. Now thats a great plug for hosting a workshop plus it is Sale A Bration time and you will earn even more FREE products plus a bonus tote or FREE stamps. Newbies – I know you will have questions, I would love to talk to you about hosting your own workshop.
My sentiment is from the same set. I inked it up a little differently this time. I know markers are normally the preferred way, but I don't know about you I have trouble getting a clean and crisp image with markers, so I decided to ink first with my NON stamp pad and then I took a cosmetic sponge applicator, dampened it just a bit with water and removed the NON ink from one of my presents then I used my Real Red Marker. This worked beautifully, my mistake was I didn't press hard enough and I missed one of my corners. But I still think it turned out great. Try it and let me know how it works for you. I used our 1 3/4" oval punch (119859) to punch it out. On the inside I stamped "Celebrate" from one of our FREE SAB stamp sets.
Well I've been rambling here. Hope you get the idea and can make a few of your own to add to your stash. It's so nice to have what you need when you need it. LOL Thanks for stopping by this Saturday, have a great week end folks. Toodles
