Good Morning Friends – Happy Friday!!!!!!!!   OMG we had so much fun yesterday,  My friend Pam came over and we practiced our Prisma Color Pencil technique.  Who would guess that coloring is a great stress reliever.  I highly recommend it.  We colored several images but the card I'm sharing today caught my fancy.  The image is from the set And Many More. Many More In colors 2010 I'm sorry I didn't realize it is not in the catty until just now.  But I'm going to share it anyway.   The cardbase is standard A2 size with Bermuda Bay Cardstock, matted with a piece of Soft Suede.  Then the magic happens.  LOL  I cut three strips of Bermuda Bay Designer Paper at 1 1/8" wide by 4 1/4 and instead of using them horizontally like normal I decided to try them vertically.  Viola'  We have a card sketch.  I'm sure I'm not the first to do this but I liked it.  The focal piece is Soft Suede and Whisper White.  We stamped our image with Jet Black Stazon and colored him with Prisma Color Pencils Gamosol.  My sentiment is from the set as well.  I inked it with Soft Suede and punched with the Window Word Punch and the Modern Label Punch.  Added a few brads for balance and there you have it a great masculine b/d card.

I have said this many times and I do appreciate your patienceand for letting me be your Stampin' up Demonstrator.  But Sale A Bration will be over in 26 days,  The Sale A Bration images will no longer be availabe after March 31st.  I think Stampin' Up did a great job this year with the Occasion and Sale a Bration Minis and with the additional stamp sets from the catalog made it even better.  Let's not forget the Scallop Trim Punch and the Designer Paper pack.  So double check those wish lists.  Place a $50 order and you can select any one item from the Sale A Bration mini for free.

Trendy Trees

March 4th, 2010 , No Comments »

Hello everyone -  I was sitting in my craft room yesterday afternoon trying to make a card from the set Trendy Trees.  The card I finished with is nothing like the idea I started out with.  Does that happen to you?  Oh my,  I wanted to use the top note die cut as my mat for my trendy trees and it just wasn't working.  I love my trees but you have to use a Stamp A Ma Jig and then it can still be a challenge.  So here it is, what do you think?  The card base is standard A2 size (5.5 x 8.5) of Taken With Teal, matted with Old Olive and the Sweet Pea Deisnger Paper.  Oh, I love that paper pack, so cute!!!   After stamping them on the top note die I cut them out and used the Scallop Trim Border on the top and matted them with another piece of Old Olive and Taken With Teal.  I added my Pretty In Pink Ribbon for a little pizazzzzz.  Inked up Teeny Tiny Wishes for my sentiment.  TIP:  Change out the ribbon color and you have a masculine card.  Viola'

Thanks for stopping in today.  I have a full day, I'm still working on my totes.  I'm making two for the girls and a friend is coming by to color.  We are going to practice coloring with our Prisma Color Pencils and Gamosol.  Have a wonderful day, see ya tomorrow.  Toodles

Beautiful Wings Birthday Card

March 2nd, 2010 , No Comments »

Hello Friends – Happy Tuesday.  A friend came over last week for a little stampin fun and we always have a little show and tell before we get started.  She showed me this card using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die.  Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die Big ShotThanks Nancy I thought it was so cute, so I made one of my own but tweeked it just a little bit.  In the  2009-2010 catty you will find something very similar.  TIP:  If you're having a slow mojo day, browse thru the catty for some inspiration.  The catty is a great source of ideas.  You can actually case a specific card or what I like to do is combine a few ideas and make it my own.  Here's the deets.

  •  Card base is 4.25 x 11, scored at 5.5 on Temp Turq. (TT) (102067)
  • 1st layer – Cut a piece of Whisper White (100730) at 4.25 x 3.5,  I punched a 1" strip of Old Olive with the Eyelet Punch (113692).  I inked my image from Vintage Label (119122) in TT and stamped four of them on my card front.
  • The butterflies are Old Olive, Pretty In Pink, Choc Chip and Temp Turq.  They were cut and embossed with the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die (118138)  from the Occasion Mini using the Big Shot (113439)
  • The sentiment is from Well Scripted (118601) and punched out with the Wide Oval Punch (112082) on WW with Basic Black Ink.  Easy Peasy!!!!   Now you have one clean, crisp birthday card for someone speical.

Thanks for stopping by today and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.  That's what I'm here for to help you with ideas and taking your creativity to the next step.   Happy Stamping!!!!!!!!  Toodles

Big Short Bag with Ruffle

February 28th, 2010 , 1 Comment »

Hello Friends -   I don't have a card for you today, I'm saving it till Monday, but I would like to share my Big Shot Bag with a Ruffle that I finished.  The material was cut using the Big Shot (113439) and the  Bigz Clear Scallop Square Die Cut (115950).  As you can see the Big Shot isn't just for paper any moreBib Shot Rag Purses Scallop Clear Die Cut It will cut eight (8) layers of fabric at one time like butter and the accuracy can't be beat.  I chose to make it a clean, crisp look instead of the rag look.  I used four squares across and three squares down.  Material is replica's of the 1930 feed sacks.  The perfect look for Spring.  The ruffle was a bit challenging, but they always are.  If your a beginner I would suggest leaving off the ruffle.  If sewing is not your cup of tea but you would still like to have one, drop me an email and we can work something out.  I going to make several of these and use them for Chrstmas gifts.  (Never to early to think ahead).  Be on the look out for them in my Etzy shop.  I'll let you know when I'm going to put them in the shop.  Thanks for dropping by today, have a good Sunday afternoon.  See ya back here on Monday for another Spring card.  Toodles

Supply List

  1. Card base is a 5 x 5" piece of Very Vanilla (101650)  scored at 5" , matted with Close To Cocoa (CTC) (101341) and a piece of DP from Tea Party (113992)
  2. Next layer is a strip of CTC and Regal Rose (RR).  I punched the CTC with the Scallop Trim Border Punch (FREE IN the SAB) (118402).  The RR strip was embossed with our Elegant Bouquet embossing folder (115964)
  3. Next layer is the focal point with CTC, Pretty In Pink (PIP) and Very Vanilla.  The vanilla piece is cut at 2 3/4 x 4" (I normally stamp my image and then cut is down to size.  It's called fussie cutting!!
  4. The Stamp Set is Season of Friendship (111776) inked in CTC, PIP.  I used Itty Bitty Backgrounds (114996) for my speckles.  The sentiment is from Vintage Labels (119122) FREE SAB Set

For future posts I'm not going to list all of the measurements.  Just remember when you are working with layers.  Determine which layer you are going to start with and increase or decrease in 1/4 or 1/8 inch measurements (example:  on this card the base is 5 x 5, so my 1st layer is 4 7/8 x 4 7/8, the DP layer is 4 3/4 x 4 3/4. ) I chose for this card to work with 1/8 but there is  nothing wrong with working in 1/4's.  TIP:  With I use my border punches I determine my length and them punch one side with my border punch, then I decide what width I need and add 1/4" then cut my paper and then finish punching with my border punch.  Some of the punches cut off 1/4 to 1/8" from you paper.  So the next time you use your  punch check to see how much it cuts off..   I hope this helps, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to let me know and we will figure it out.
