Stampin Up Summer Mini On The Grow National Scrapbooking Month Birthday Card

Good morning all. . . today's project is one from the Summer Mini.  I have used this set before it's called On the Grow.  I just love this layout, it is so dang cute.  I'm not sure exactly where I saw it but lets say thank you for sharing.  My color combo today is all about the In Colors.  I'm so happy that SU decided to keep these colors plus add some new ones for our new Idea Book and Catalog for the new year.  The excitement is building, before long Stampin' Up will be releasing the Last Chance List and as a demonstrator I will get a sneek peek of some new and upcoming stamp sets and accessories from the new catty.

Back now to the project at hand.  My paper combo is Very Vanilla, matted with Peach Parfait and matted again with Peach Parfait Designer Paper from our Hostess Level 1 6 x 6 paper pack.  My early expresso piece is cut at 3 1/4" square and I used our Square Lattice Embossing folder on it.  The next layer is a strip of Pear Pizzazz and a piece of Pear Pizzaz DP.  You will notice I used one of my favorite cool tools the Scallop Trim Border Punch..  Lovely!!!!!!!  My focal point was stamped with Black Stazon on Watercolor Paper, then colored with reinkers and an aqua painter.  For a little something extra I took some Crystal Effects and filled in my jar to make it look like glass.  What do you think?  Did it work?  My little bow is the Mary Brown bow.  I actually think I'm getting the hang of it.  Practice, Practice, Practice

Tick Tock I Made A Clock

Sense of Time Stampin' Up Clock Stampin' Up Summer Mini National Scrapbooking Month

Good Morning To Ya.  Welcome to this sunny Tuesday Morning.  We had such a gloomy week end with all the rain. It's so soggy out there.  Bad time outdoors leads to good times indoors.  Tick tock I made a clock.  Have you every come across a project in the catalog that you wanted to make but it intimidated you just a tad.  Well this year there is a beautiful clock sitting on the front page of our catalog.  It is simply beautiful and it was on my list to make.  Approx 11 months later I did it!!!!!!

Today I have a beautiful clock to share with you.  My clock base is a paper mache round box.  It is a little larger than I expected, but I was not able to find anything smaller, so this was it.  I used the lovely Love Letter Designer Paper.  I measured my sides and the circumference of my circle and cut my paper accrordingly.  For my sides it was appox 3" wide and about 23" around, so I cut my paper at 3 x 12 and glued two pieces together.  Be sure an use good adhesive.  I used both our Tom Boy Multil glue and red sticky tape.  This assures me it will stay put.  For the box top it measured appox 7 1/2 inched round so I needed at least a 7 1/4" circle to go on top.  Now this was a chanllege to find something round that measured 7 1/4".  So on went my thinking cap and I came up with a saucer from the kitchen cabinet.  I can't tell you how many times I have gone to my kitchen to look for tools that I could use for my crafting needs.  Viola'  I found a saucer.  LOL  The 7 1/4" circle left me a little edge around my box top.  It didn't coordinate with my black and red papers so it needed to be painted black.  Well wouldn't you know it I couldn't find my black acrylic paint and didn't want to make a trip to the craft store, so I just took my sponge and inked it up with Basic Black Ink and started sponging all around.  It worked very well.  It took a little time to get it to the color that I wanted but worked well.  The band around the lid measures 1" wide and I once again glued two 12" strips of paper together being careful to match the prints as best as I could.

Now for the clock front.  My stamp set is Sense of Time.  I stamped it on Very Vanilla in Versamark and used Black Embossing Pwd on it with my heat tool.  I then cut it out.  I needed at lot of layers to take up some of the space, so I got my trustie nesties out and made several layers in Bacic Black and Riding Hood Red.  My next embellishment is the butterfly, I cut a piece of Riding Hood Red and a piece of vellum.  Used the Beautifl Butterflies Die Cut and then embossed them with our Finial Press Embossing Folder.  My little flower to the left is gathered up Cherry Cobber Seam Binding ribbon stuck on a 1 1/4" circle.  I pushed it up under the scallops just a tad.  My verse is from the same stamp set punched with our Decorative Label Punch.  My strip is cut from Basic Black cardstock, punched with our Scallop Trim Border Punch and a piece of our Victorian Lace ribbon attached.  My feet are round wooden balls painted with Black Acrylic paint.  I glued them together with E6000 glue.  It's a very strong glue and will hold almost anything.

Well that's mostly it,  I'm sorry for such a long post.  I hope I haven't confused you too much.  My advise is to just jump right in there and start making your clock and everything will fall in place.  If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.  I'm sure I have left something out somewhere.  When you tackle this project and are in need of supplies please click on my on line store below.

I had fun making this clock and I hope you will try it too.  I'm going to make a few more for my craft fair in the fall.  I do custom orders if you decide it's too much for you.  Take care everyone and have a great day.  Toodles

Clean and Simple Saturday

Stampin Up Summer Mini Touch of Kindness Stamp Set 30% Discount National Scrapbooking Month

Hello My Crafty Friends. .  My project today is a clean and simple card using the new stamp set from the Summer Mini, which is in full swing by the way.  It's called Touch of Kindess.  If you like a little whimsy once in a while this set is all that and more.  I stamped the flower from the set on some Poppy Parade and for my center I used So Saffron.  Then punch it out with the Scallop Circle Punch. For the center I used the 1 1/4" Circle Punch.  My sentiment comes from Fabulous Phrases.  A great set of words and the font is so pretty.  My colors are So Saffon, Poppy Parade, Whisper White and my polka dots are from the Pawsitively Prints Designer Paper Pack.  For some texture I used one of our Embossing Folders on the Whisper White.  It called Perfect Polka Dots.  You can find it on page 214 of our catty.

All in all this is a very clean and simple card that will surely put a smile on someone's face.

Scapbooking with Upsy Daisy

Stampin Up National Scrapbooking Month, Summer Mini 30% Discount on Scrappbooking Supplies

Good Morning My Friends and Happy Friday To Ya.  As promised in honor of Natational Scrapbooking Month I have a scrappy page to share.

My color combo is Whisper White, Baja Breeze, and Not Quite Navy.  A great color combo don't you think.  This page is crisp, clean and super easy to do.  I have used two stamp sets Upsy Daisy #111710 and Garden Whimsy (Ret).  I stamped my flowers with Baja Breeze first and I placed them a little higher on the page, approx an inch to an inch and a half.  This left me some room to stamp again with Not Quite Navy.  You want to make your flowers look staggarded so make sure you stamp off at the bottom of the page.  Next I used my Color Spitzer with Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy markers.  This is a great little tool and a must have in your arsenal of cool tools.  Place your marker in the slot and tighten with the little knob, don't tighten too much.  Be sure and place your marker in far enough so that the tip is just a little extended over the air pocket.  Then squeeze the pump and the marker will mist over you paper.  The closer you get to the paper the bigger the mist.  Practice first on a sheet of scrap paper so you can get the feel of the tool.  Also it works best with a fresh marker, the juicer the better.  Give it a try the Color Spritzer #107066 is a good thing.  Next I randomly stamped the butterflies on my page with the Butterfly from Garden Whimsy (ret). Always try and work in threes, it is more pleasing to the eye.   I added some pretty bling with pearls and rhinestones.  On my matts to make them a little prettier I used our Eyelet Border Punch #119853 on one end of my matt.

I hope you enjoyed the page and that you are getting a few pages done yourself during this year's National Scrapbooking Month.  Be sure and check out all that Stampin' Up is offering the month.  Save 30% on preselected stamp sets and accessories.  Click here and view all the great stuff SU is offering.

If your not a scrapbooker I hope this page has inspired you, if you are already a scrapbooker I hope I have given you a few ideas on how to set up a page layout.  In these busy times I know is it difficult to set aside some spare time to scrapbook, but memories can be made with your family, just do it.  Years from now you and your family can look back at the oh so fun things that happend in their lifes.  So much fun and the love and bonding is irreplaceable.  Have fun scrapbooking !!!!!!!!!

Summer Time Summer Time Sum Sum

Hello Everyone.  Summer is almost here for most of us folks and you know what that brings, family BBQs and lots of summer birthdays.  My project today is just that a birthday card.  I followed the SCS Color Challenge from yesterday with one exception.  Instead of Certaily Celery I choose Pear Pizzazz because I needed a little more depth.  The colors are Very Vanilla, Blushing Bride, So Saffron and Pear Pizzazz.  My stamp set is Afterthoughts a Level 1 Hostess Gift.  Contact me and I'll tell you how you can received this stamp set for FREE.  My first layer is my Blushing Bride and I used our Square Lattice Embossing Folder on it.  Don't you just love that embosing folder, it's one of my favs.  Next is a layer of Pear Pizzazz and So Saffron.  I didn't have enough Pear Pizzazz ribbon to go all round the card so I punched a hole about half way down my strip.  This way I can insert my ribbon and tie my bow and no one is the wiser that it doesn't go around the complete card.  Great tip!!!!!  Next I cut my squares.  The So Saffron is 2 7/8" square and the Pear Pizzazz is 2 3/8" square.  I then punched them out with our Scallop Trim Corner Punch and our Scallop Trim Border Punch.  If you need a refresher on how to do this technique just google it and you will find a video out there.

Touch of Kindness and a MOJO Sketch

Touch of Kindness Stampin Up Summer Mini National Scrapbooking Month

Hi There. . .   Hope your day is starting off with a bang.  I'm back today with this weeks MOJO Sketch.  If you have followed me for very long you know I enjoy this layout.  I started off with a cardbase of Very Vanilla,  a lovey choice don't you think.  Each year I find that Stampin' Up picks a color palette and that everything coordinates around it.  This year Very Vanilla is in the spotlight.  My next layer is a piece of Concord Crush topped off with a new designer paper called Lap of Luxury.  I have been looking for a designer paper that would coordinate with Concord Crush and decided to give Lap of Luxury a try.  As many of you know, when we buy a new pack of paper it is very hard to cut it up.  LOL  But we must.  For my focal point I wanted to use the new Stamp Set Touch of Kindness from the Summer Mini.  I first made my scallop square using the Scallop Trim Corner Punch and the Scallop Trim Border Punch.  Layered it with another piece of Very Vanilla.  I decided that it needed a little something more, so I used our Polka Dot Embossing Folder and my Big Shot.  I stamped my flower image with Versamark and grabbed some Pink Embossing Pwd and used my heat tool to give me a pretty raised image.  In the Summer Mini you will find on page 23 three new embossing colors that coordinate with the Designer Series Paper called Beyond the Garden.  If you haven't tried heat embossing, you're really missing out on a great technique.  Give it a try.  My sentiment is from Touch of Kindness as well.  For my scallop circles I used our 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch and a 2" Scallop Circle Punch (NSU).  Added a few buttons from my stash and viola' you have yourself a very pretty card.

I know your are probably saying this is National Scrapbooking Month, where are the scrapbooking pages.  Well over the next few days I'll try and get something posted.  I have been working on a mini album for my Stamp Club Scrappers and it will be ready for posting soon.

Cute Little Purses Made With The Cupcake Punch

Purse Card Stampinup Up Summer Mini National Scrapbook Promotion 30% Discount

Good Morning My Stamping Friends. . .  Yesterday I featured the cute little toddler birthday card using the embedding technique with circles.  Today I have a girly girl kind of card.  My card base is Poppy Parade matted with a piece of Whisper White.  I used our Polka Dot Embossing Folder on it.  Next is a layer of Pawsitively Pints DP.  For a little splash I punched a strip of Basic Back with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.  My focal point was made with one of our cool tools, the Cupcake Punch that was featured in the Occasion Mini.  All you need to do is choose a really cute designer paper that you like, mine was Pawsitively Prints.  I used three of the oh so cute pattern papers and punched them with the Cupcake Punch.  For the top of my handbag I cut a 3/4" circle and cut it in half, then for the handle go back to the card stock that you just cut the circles from and insert your punch again about halfway up and punch.  This gives you the handle for your cute purse.  I added one of our Rhinestone Jewels.  If you have not tried them yet you are missing out.  The sparkle on these rhinestones is phenomenal.  My sentiment is from Touch Of Kindness from the Summer Mini, punched with the Large Oval and the Scallop Oval Punches.

DID YOU KNOW:  May is National Scrapbooking Month.  Until May 31st Stampin' Up is offering a 30% discount of selected stamp set and accessories.  Click here and check them out.
