Stampin' Up Designer Fabic Occasions Mini

Happy Monday To All My Craftin' Friends.  Last year Stampin' Up launched a new product line.  Fabric. In the new Occasions Mini SU has a couple of new frabric lines.  There are three coordinated designs and it comes in an extra wide fat quarter approx 28 x 18.  These fabrics can be used with your Big Shot and Dies.  Making tote bags, quilts and anything your imagination comes up with.  Using the Big Shot makes cutting fabric so easy and very percise.

I was browsing the net the other day and came across yo yo's.  Michelle Wooderson had used a Yo Yo her mother made and attached it to a cute bag of goodies.  Yo Yo's are round pieces of fabric in various sizes and you can turn these cute fabric circles into cute ruffled flowers.  How you ask is this done.  Stampin' Up Designer Fabric Occasions MiniYou will need a needle and thread.  Give yourself enough thread so you are not fighting it when sewing your circle.  Cut the size circle you would like, the bigger the circle, the bigger the flower will be.  (SU now has a 3" and 3.5" Circle Die)  With the fabric circle in your left hand (wrong side of fabric is facing you) you start turning over fabric about 1/8 of an inch and start sewing a running stitch.  When you have completed going around the circle start gathering it up.  When it looks like you want it secure your little circle with a knot.  For the middle of your flower you can add some bling, buttons, pearls, brads or if you are really good at it and your circle is perfect you don't need anything.

Today I am sharing a card that I made using these Yo Yo's as flowers for my card.  My cardstock is Early Expresso, matted with Very Vanilla.  Then I have a piece of Baja Breeze punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch and I used a strip of Springtime Desinger Paper.  My little stem is from the stamp set Happy Together.  This is such a cute idea.

To place your order for the new 3" and 3.5" circle die cuts please click here.  Item numbers are #122125 and #121811.

Good Luck with your new project.  Don't expect perfection the first time.  Keep practicing and in no time you will be making the perfect yo yo's.  Send pictures.  Great fun.

Thanks for stopping by and chatting with me.  Have a wonderful day.  If you are a visual person like me go out and google yo yo's, there are some videos out there.  Toodles
