YUMMM – blog candy is the best kind because NO CALORIES!!  After all those desserts for Thanksgiving, I need to go easy on the calories for sure.
A holiday tradition we have is we go as a family to provide service at a local food bank.  We help stock the shelves and get the orders ready for those who need help by the food bank.  It is a great way to feel the spirit of love and gratitude for what we have.

Most of our immediate family has passed so we all try to get together and have a good meal together and pray for others who are not as fortunate as us.  Then we go visit our loved ones that has passed weather permitting.  Usually around 5:00 pm we go to church and listen to some wonderful Christmas music played and sung by our different groups in our small country church.  We send shoe boxes to other places and usually watch a veido of the children opening the gifts we sent to them.  We are proud that we gathered enough items to send 85 shoe boxes to the children this year.

Our family tradition is opening gifts on Christmas Eve.  Then, the kids put their stockings under the tree and Santa magically fills them with treats and treasures for them on Sunday morning.  We have a huge Christmas morning breakfast with all the trimmings.  I love it when my niece (age 21) visits from college for a couple days and we have our special crafing time 🙂  Thanks for all your inspirational cards!
