Inspired By Nature

Good Morning Friends – Hope your day has started out bright eyed and bushy tailed.  We finally have some sun here this morning.  I'm hoping to get some of the pretty flowers in the ground today.  I'm hopin that the rain has moved on for a while at least.  Today I have a very pretty card and it was easy to make.  For my card base I used WW #100730 and and piece of Choc Chip #102128.  Don't you just love Choc Chip, it is always one of my go to colors.  Inspirated By Nature Summer Mini Occasion MiniYou know it is going to have a little competion soon.  Early Expresso is a much darker color when compared side by side.  I'm so excited on June 1st I will be able to actually get my hands on some.  That's one of the advantages of being a demonstrator.  Maybe you should give it a second thought and join Sandy's Stampers.  My next level is a piece of yellow from the Sweet Pea Collection.  The Stamp Set is Inspired By Nature #111656.  A great set to add to your collection.  I inked it up with some sponge dobbers #102892.  Sponge dobbers are a great little tool, you get 12 dobbers (a color family) for $10.95.  You can find them on pg 192.  Inks are Old Olive, So Saffron, Rose Red and Choc Chip. I cut a 2 3/8" square and used the Scallop Trim Corner Punch and the Scallop Trim Border Punch for the edges.  Click here to check to see what's been carried over from the Occasions Mini.  The Scallop Border Punch is one of them.  For my sentiment I used Stamp Set Best Yet  (Retired).  Punched it with the 1.25" Circle Punch #104403.  For my layer I punched a piece of Choc Chip with the Designer Label Punch #107590.  My ribbon is some left over Choc Chip Satin from a previous mini.  This card is a very easy one and it is also stricking.  The hardest thing is to punch out your square with the Scallop Trim Punches, but WOW what a look when you finish.  Thanks for stopping by today, have a great Tuesday.  I have a couple of ball games later, I better take my long johns just in case.  Is this really May.  LOL  Toodles

I will be updating my Etsy Store soon.  I have been working on a few more rag purses.  If you are planning on going to convention it will make a great little tote to hold all of the beautiful swaps that you are going to receive.  If you would like to have one please check in with me.  I am charging $25. for the normal tote plus $5. shipping if needed.

The Last Chance List becomes available on June 1st.  Have your list ready to go because supplies move pretty quickly.

Cute Little Bookmark Using First Day From The Summer Mini

Good Morning Everyone –   Have you got your coffee in hand and ready to start your day.  OMG have I got the cutest bookmark for you.  When the Summer Mini was released I just fell in love with the stamp set First Day #120051.  I don't know about you but I'm a sucker for cute little critters and this cute litte book worm is no excpetion.Stampin' Up Stamp Set First Day Summer Mini  A little while back out there is blog a sphere I had been seeing alot of cute ideas using the Stampin' Up Two Tags Die Cut #115954 and of course I'm just like you I had to have it.  Well it arrived and now I needed to do something with it.  Well today I have to share with you a cute little bookmark using the Tags Die and the bookworm stamp from First Day #120051.

Here's how I did it.  I cut two of the scallop tags from the die cut, stamped the apple from the set in a wallpaper pattern.  If you don't know what a wallpaper pattern is I'll try and explain it.  You'll notice how I stamped the two apples across the top of the tag and then came down a little and stamped the next apple in the middle of the other two.  It kind of looks like a triangle.  Continue on down your paper until you have it full of apples.  Next I try to fill in the blank spaces with something.  A lot of time I just doodle.  There is something about all that blank white space that just drives me bonkers.  LOL  Next I punched a scallop from our Scallop Circle Punch #109043.  It just so happens that it fits perfectly at the bottom of the scallop tag.  Then I used our 1 /38" Circle Punch #104401 to punch out my little bookworm.  He is colored with markers Real Red, Certainly Celery, Creamy Carmel and just a tad of Bashful Blue (blender pen)  for his glasses.  He's just too cute!!!!!  Remember I cut 2 tags.  Next I cut a piece of our Real Red Polka Dot ribbon # 115608 and attached it to the back of my tag with Red Sticky Tape # 104294.  Then using the Stick Tape again I attached my extra tag to make it more sturdy and to hide where I attached the ribbon.  The ribbon is approx 16" long and at the bottom I attached a big brad (NSU) as a counter weight for the book mark.  I hope you like him, he's the apple of my eye.  OMG.  Thanks for stopping by today, have a great Friday.  Hope I'll see you back here tomorrow. If you have any questions please let me know.   Toodles

True Friend – Easel Card

Hello Friends – Welcome to Wednesday here at Sandieskorner.  Looks like it is going to be a gloomie day here in St. Charles,  Were did spring and summer go????  Today I am sharing a card that I have made for my Stamp Club.  The style of my card today is called an Easel Card.  They are fun and easy to make.  I am using Sage Shadow #101563 cardstock (retiring), layered with a piece of Very Vanilla #101650 and layered again with Basic Black #102851.  I also layered a piece of designer paper called Nouveau Chic #115670 which is also retiring on June 30th.  My focal point is a piece of Very Vanilla.  I used the Scallop Trim Border Punch (avail Jul 1st) on one side and my paper piercer on the other side.  My Stamp Set is called True Friend #110378.  I attached a 1" strip of the Nouveau Chic DP on the left side.  My sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes #115370.  For the inside of your Easel Card I used a strip of Basic Black and DP,  Used the Scallop Trim Border again and raised it up with dimenstionals.  This allows your Easel Card to stand up.  I chose to say Happy Birthday using the stamp from Well Scripted #118601.  Viola' you have an unusal and beautiful card to give to someone special.  Thanks for stopping by today, see ya tomorrow.  Ta Ta For Now

Dimensions of an Easel Card

Enjoy Every Moment Scrapbooking Page

Enjoy Every Moment National Scrapbooking Month Stampin' UpHello Friends – Happy Tuesday –  Boy. we got a good little rain here last night.  I am looking forward to it warming up a bit.  It has been darn right cold here the last few days.  National Scrapbooking Month is a great time to orangize those pictures and gettem' scrapped.  Today I have a cute little page using the stamp set Enjoy Every Moment #113622.  My page base is Sage Shadow #101563 (retiring) matted with a piece of Very Vanilla #101650.  I have a Pretty In Pink #100459 strip going across the page and I have used a retired striped paper under it.  To make it look more finished and soften the look of the two pieces coming togeher I used a strip of So Saffron Ribbon.  TIP:  If you don't have a mataching ribbon, use a 1/4" strip of cardstock and it will do the same thing.  I used the flower in the set to make my own background paper and matted the word enjoy and placed it at the top of my page.  I havn't placed any pictures in it yet, but I was thinking it would be great for a baby layout.  There's nothing like creating your own memories.  Start scrapbooking today, you will be so glad you did.  Thanks for dropping by today, I'm off to get a haircut this morning and I still need to get ready for stamp club next week.  Have a wonderful day.  Toodles

Watercolor Trio – Thank You

Hello Friends – Welcome to Monday .  I'm having a bit of computer trouble.  Oh NO!!!!!   The crazy things you just want them to work.  Don't you feel that way too.  Today I would like to share a thank you card that I have made for one of my customers. Watercolor Trio Summer Mini Square Lattice Embossing Folder I used Taken With Teal ( so sorry to see it go) and Pumpkin Pie DP.  I matted it with another piece of TWT but I  used the new embossing folder Square Lattice from the Summer Mini (pg 24).  I also used the technique called direct to paper.  Take your ink pad and rub it across your cardstock and the ink picks up on the raised pattern from your embossing folder.  Next layer is WW punched with the Scallop Trim Border Punch and a piece of Pumpkin Pie DP.  My stamp set is Watercolor Trio.  I inked it up with markers Old Olive, TWT and PP.  Stamped them off a couple of time to give it some depth.  My circle is 3" and the Scallop Circle is from the Scallop Circle #2 bigz die.  The tag punch at the bottom was cut with a nestie and the ribbon is 1/4 grosgrain Pumpkin Pie.  Thanks for stopping by today, have a wonderful day.  See ya tomorrow.  Toodles

Supplies Needed to Make This Card:

  • Cardstock – Taken With Teal #101584 (retiring soon), WW #100730, Pumpkin Pie DP #112159
