Gifts of the Earth

Happy Friday Everyone.  I think the rain as finally stopped.  Nope it’s still coming down.  It has been raining all night and all day.  Thats a lot of water.  How are things in your neck of the woods?  Do you every have days where you work and work and you don’t get anything done.  Well that is the kind of day I’ve had.  I didn’t get to play with My Digital Studio today.  But I have had an odd thing happen since I installed it.  When I try to print from my yahoo mail box a screen appears and says there’s a problem with microsoft explorer and we have to shut down.  Has that happen to anyone else out there?  I don’t normally send error reports to Microsoft but I did this time.  Don’t know if I will get a response.  Is there anyone out there that has had this same problem.  My card for today is from the Gifts of the Earth stamp set # 116501 from the Holiday Mini.  I used Ruby Red as my base and matted it with Whisper White and DP from Christmas Cocoa #116770 also from the Holiday Mini.  I used a texture plate from Backgrounds 1 (large polka dots).  The saying is from the same set and I used the Ticket Corner Punch.   I used markers and my blender pen to color my apple image (Pretty in Pink, Ruby Red, Certainly Celery and Old Olive).  For the bowl I used my Creamy Carmel marker and blended with Choc Chip.  I used Choc Chip ribbon in between the two mats.  It seems to always soften the areas where they come together.  I hope that makes sense.  LOL.

We are into the month a couple of weeks now.  Be sure and check out the Card Kit of the Month.  I’m offering a 20% discount on the Stamp Set and one accessory when you purchase the card kit.  Click here.

I hope you have a super duper day. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will keep me in your thoughts for any future purchases you have in mind.   Toodles

Pocket Silhouettes

Good Morning to All.  I due believe it is Thursday right. LOL   I received my software My Digitial Studio and got it installed and was even able to play with it just a little bit.  I don’t think it will take long and I will be able to navigate around just fine.  I made a flyer and a scrapbook page.  Both were 8 1/2 by 11 because that’s the size printer I have.  I was surprized that when it printed it did not fill the whole sheet.  Do any of you know if this is the norm or do I need to adjust my page set up.  I will have to investigate a little further.  My time was limited yesterday so my card for you today is a simple, clean cut card.  I got my inspiration from my dear friend and fellow demonstrator that comes to visits me once in a while.  Thanks Nancy.  I just love my color combo.  Card base is Close to Cocoa, matted with Pretty In Pink and topped with Very Vanilla.  Stamp Set is Pocket Silhouettes # 111672.  Inked with CTC and PNP inks.  I used the Larage Oval Punch and the Scallop Oval Punch.  My sentiment is from Oval All #113790.  You all know how I love polka dots so I auditioned pretty Soft Suede as my ribbon and by gosh I do think it looks just fine.  Do you?  It gave it that little zing that we are always looking for.

Always – Color Throw Down Challenge #7

Happy Wednesday to You All. Yesterday I participated in a Throw Down Color Challenge by Diana Gibbs. The colors are Basic Black Tempting Turquoise, Sage Shadow and Whisper White. I had a tuff time selecting a stamp set that I could use. You might say my style tends to be on the floral side and I could not come up with a thing. LOL Do you have that trouble too?  My mojo is slipping just a bit. I’ll have to work on that.  Anywho the basic card is 4 1/4 by 11, scored at 5 1/2. I used Basic Black as my base, matted with Temp. Turq. I used my Sanded background stamp on the Sage Shadow cardstock inked with Sage Shadow. The beautiful heart is from the Always stamp set #113620. Be sure and keep this in mind for Valentines Day. The sentiment is from Kind and Caring Thoughts a Level 3 hostess set. Oh, I almost forget the Temp Turq. matt was embossed with a Texturz Plate (Backgrounds 1) using my Big Shot.  Satin White ribbon, a little bling and some black nail heads (non SU) finish the card off nicely. I hope you all have a great Wednesday.  My stress level is a little high.  My daughter’s divorce date is next Monday and It won’t be pretty so say a little prayer especially for my grandgirls.  They are having a tough time.  Such a shame the ones we love the most often tend to be affected the most.  I have to pick them up from schooltoday plus run a few errands that need to be tended too. Thanks for stopping by. Have a super duper day. Toodles

P.S. There’s a lot of promos going on so be sure and check them out.  We’re half way thru the week, so be sure and check out the Deal of the Week (punches) so you don’t miss out.

Lovely As A Tree

Happy Monday to Everyone.  Did you have a nice week-end?  It was very nice here today, but a little chili this morning.  We had sun all day and I was able to get a little yard work done.  I used my shop and vac to vacuum the patio and we were able to burn a few sticks and brush that I had laying around.  It felt good to be able to get some of that done.  I have not heard any predictions about this winter. Our last several winters have been pretty mild.  It got pretty cold at times but nothing steady.  I sure hope we have that again.  I love to watch the snow fall but I hate to have to shovel and try to get around.  LOL  Don’t we all. Did you have any time to do some challenges over at SCS for WCMD?  I was not able to do any of the challenges but it sure looked like they had some good prizes.  Let me know if you did, I would love to see your creations.  My card for today is Lovely As A Tree #115026.  I have had it a couple years now,  It’s and oldie but goodie.  I tried to use a new layout but I couldn’t come up with anything that I think somebody hasn’t used.  It’s such a pretty set, you can use it for just about any occassion.  Once again I used Soft Suede, but this time I matted with Very Vanilla and a sheet from the new DP Christmas Cocoa.  You’ll find it in the Holiday Mini. What did you think of the flocked paper?  Very elegant isn’t it.  I used the Biz die Top Note with my Big Shot.  Boy, I don’t think there is a day that goes by that I don’t use it.  Before I close I would just like to remind everyone Stampin’ Up has some dog gone pretty good promotions this month you don’t want to miss.  Have you checked the Clearance Rack yet?  If you haven’t click here and go to my SU webstie and click on the Shop Now icon and look in the left sidebar.
